Freedom Elementary School
As part of the recommendation given to the School Board by the district's Long Range Facility Planning Task Force in 2011, a new 550-student elementary school was constructed to accommodate the needs of families living south of I-94. Freedom was built on acquired land west of Veterans Boulevard between 32nd Avenue and I-94. The estimated cost of the project totaled $11 million. Freedom opened and started serving students in grades 1-5 during the 2012-2013 school year. Freedom Elementary received its name from a process that engaged the community on name submissions.
